I had the opportunity to travel to Hong Kong with Moment Travel on one of their guided photo trips. I wanted to pack light, so I only carried my Ricoh GR III compact camera during the trip. This was my first trip to Asia, so I didn’t know what to expect, but I can now say that I am in love with this city!

Incredible photos! Came here after your review on B&H.

Wonderful shots! You captured those amazing Hong Kong colours superbly.

Some amazing stuff her Jared You have a true photographers eye. I am looking into getting this camera. Read reviews that it had problems with auto focus in low light. What is your take????

I know theyve fixed some of the low light autofocus in the software updates. Honestly, I havent used my camera since I left Hong Kong. Nothing back in my hometown seems interesting enough now! haha I think the pros outweigh the cons!

Really enjoyed the photos from you trip. Came across this doing some research on the GR3 for a trio of my own. Did you shoot RAW and edit externally or use the positive film profile and shoot JPG?

Thanks! Im so happy with how the GR3 performed. I shot both RAW and JPG with the Positive Film simulation. I’m pretty sure I added my custom VSCO filter on top of the positive film profile for these though.

Thank you for following up! I feared that might be the case. I logged into my VSCO account last week to try and download the “standard profiles” since Ricoh was never covered by VSCO only to find out they have dropped all support for VSCfilmOand no longer show the product keys so now I am kinda stuck with my canon and fuji presets only. How did you start out with your custom preset? Was it a “standard” preset versus their brand specific? Thanks for your help!

Yea I really hate that VSCO ended support for their presets! Hoping that doesnt mess with my wedding work later on down the road. I just throw the canon ones on top of the ricoh images. I started with one of the presets from the VSCO 05 collection, and then I move the sliders around until its unique to me and the look that I like.
